Botanical Name – musa paradaisica
Nigeria local name: Yoruba call it Ọ̀gẹ̀dẹ̀ ńlá or Ọ̀gẹ̀dẹ̀ àgbaagbà, Hausa call it Ayaba. In Igbo there are varieties of names for plantain: Ogadejioke, Ojioko, abereka.
